Dental Implants are sterile, titanium screws that are placed in your jaw bone. They heal and become part
of your bone.
Then, the
dentist places a crown on the implant!
Implants can be used to hold crowns, bridges, or dentures,
depending on the patient's needs. An implant can replace one missing tooth, or many.
Not everyone is a candidate for implants. There must be sufficient bone to hold the implant.
Implants have been a lifesaver for many of my patients, since two or three implants can hold a full denture, eliminating the
need for gooey adhesive.
An x- ray exam will tell the dentist if you are a candidate for implants.
Are they expensive? Yes. You must pay for the implant, and then the crown that it holds. But look what you are getting for
your money! A lost tooth, or teeth, can be replaced with an implant
that otherwise would need
a removeable appliance.
Please call me, so we can discuss where and how many implants you need.
